About Us...
I’m Greg Knitz, and I founded Alignment Supplies, Inc. in July of 1985. My company was born from necessity and a desire to take on a new challenge. Before starting my own company, I was employed as a Regional Sales Manager for a company in Chicago that manufactured a dial indicator-based shaft alignment system. They also manufactured precut Stainless Steel shims and offered both products to a national audience. We set up a distribution network of large power transmission companies to sell the shims, and smaller, more focused companies to demonstrate and sell the alignment tools. And it worked! We were so successful that I was asked to move to Chicago; however, I decided that I would rather stay in Ohio. I started Alignment Supplies, Inc. and became a distributor for that company instead!
I was one of the very first representatives for Easy-Laser® in the United States, and it was my first experience with laser shaft alignment. I began selling Easy-Laser®shortly after Nils Andersson founded Damalini AB (the manufacturer of Easy-Laser®) in 1998. In a very short time I had tremendous success selling shaft alignment systems in Ohio and the surrounding states. Then, one Saturday afternoon, I got a call from Nils with an invitation to visit Sweden to speak with him about becoming a distributor. I laid out my plan and he gave me the opportunity to put it into motion. We became their national distributor in 2001, serving half of the US. In May of 2005, we were awarded the continental US as the Master Distributor for all Easy-Laser® brand products. The Easy-Laser® line of alignment and measurement systems is the best combination of quality components, innovative design, powerful programs, and fair pricing – and Alignment Supplies, Inc. is proud to represent the Easy-Laser® brand for the entire United States.
Alignment Supplies, Inc. is committed to being your comprehensive alignment and measurement resource - we sell, service, and support what we offer! We have a Calibration and Repair department at our facility in Maumee, OH that is ESD (electronic static discharge) certified and we serve as the only authorized agent for this service by Damalini AB in the northern hemisphere. We can service customers in the US, Canada, and South America and we are pleased to know that our customers really appreciate our “quickest in the industry” turnaround times.
We offer a schedule of laser shaft alignment training classes here in Ohio throughout the year, and we can customize a class to meet your applications and needs. Our network of trained representatives can also provide an on-site demonstration as well as training and support in the field.
The future for Alignment Supplies, Inc. and Easy-Laser® looks very bright. We continue to explore new and different ways that our laser systems can be used, and we continue to develop the most innovative laser alignment and measurement products available. We have grown exponentially in the last several years, and all indicators say we’re only just getting started!
